We at the Nevins take great pride in serving those in the autism community and their families. We are constantly updating our autism collection, which covers parenting and, increasingly, concerns related to teenagers and adults. While the guides are useful and informative, a unique way to understand autism is to read books written by people on the spectrum. Try John Elder Robison’s Look Me in the Eye or something by Temple Grandin, author of The Autistic Brain. And, check out our display of autism-related books on the main floor.
Also, Bari Glazer, Autism Specialist for the Methuen Schools, has offered programs here at the library for the past ten years. The last of her current three-series program, “Communicating Concerns to Families,” will be presented here on Wednesday, April 8th, in the Great Hall. Check our Event Calendar for registration information.
