Nevins Library Poppy Project
This Summer we need your help creating felt, crocheted, and knitted poppies for a large scale art project to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the First Armistice Day and remember those lost in World War I.
To honor the 100th Anniversary of the First Armistice Day, the Nevins Library is introducing our Poppy Project. We invite our community to help us make poppies for a large scale art project to remember those lost in World War I. We will be knitting, crocheting, and creating poppies from felt.
We’ll have drop in times between now and the beginning of November where the Library will provide supplies and you provide your talent!
Or if you prefer to help with the project from home or with your own crafty group? The Library has patterns available! Please drop completed poppies off to Sarah at the Main Desk.
We are kicking off the project on May 24th at 10 am and again at 6:30 pm with an introduction, some samples, and a chance for you to participate right away! We will also be serving refreshments at the Kick Off event.
Thank you for your help in making sure these Veterans are never forgotten.
