2019 Free Fun Fridays!

Ack, no school, now what to do???  No worries, once again the Highland Street Foundation is offering Free Fun Fridays this summer so everyone may enjoy all the cultural treasures Massachusetts has to offer for free.

Each Friday during the summer months (June 28 – August 30) there are several museums and outdoor activities that you can visit free of charge. That’s right I said FREE so check it out!  You can pick up a schedule of the 100 participating museums, zoos and cultural venues that are participating in the Free Fun Fridays at any of the public service desks at the library or click here

This year, three new venues have joined the lineup: the Museum of Printing in Haverhill (July 5), Capron Park Zoo in Attleboro (Aug. 30), and Mass Audubon’s Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary in Topsfield (Aug. 30).

The Lyric Stage Company of Boston (June 28), the Hall at Patriot Place (July 12), the Chatham Shark Center (Aug 2) and the Boston Harbor Islands (Aug 9) are on my to-see list this summer.  What’s on yours?

If you are looking for things to do the rest of the week try “Walking Boston” by Robert Todd Felton.  It is a guide of 34 tours through Boston’s cobblestone roads and historic districts.  One of our favorite walking spots is the newly complete Rose Kennedy Greenway.  A beautiful garden area right in the middle of the city.  Enjoy!
